WINTER HAVEN, FL – Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a pedestrian in Winter Haven, according to WTSP.
The incident happened Friday in the area of 5th Street Southeast and Avenue L Southeast, where a man walking across the road was hit by a Toyota CHR. The victim was seriously injured and taken to an area hospital.
Police said video showed the driver stopped briefly after the crash but left the scene without helping the victim. A search is now underway for the vehicle involved, which is believed to have significant damage to the front passenger bumper and fender.
