LAND O’LAKES, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a driver died at a hospital after his pickup truck was involved in a collision on U.S. 41 late Friday night.
The Free Press reports the 62-year-old man was driving south near Wisteria Loop just before midnight when the 53-year-old driver of a northbound vehicle made a U-turn into the path of his truck.
The pickup struck the back of the car. The impact sent the car into a median and caused the truck to hit a power pole on the shoulder of the highway.
The pickup truck driver, a Land O’Lakes resident, was taken to an area hospital where he passed away of his injuries on Monday. The driver of the car, a Tampa man, sustained minor injuries.
