PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – An elderly driver was seriously injured when his car collided with another vehicle in Pinellas County Saturday morning, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The 83-year-old man was driving north on US-19 when the accident occurred at about 11:30 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver was about to make a left turn into Harbor Freight Tools when he entered the path of another car. The second car, driven by a 28-year-old man from Oldsmar, crashed into the right side of the other vehicle.
The older driver, a Palm Harbor resident, was hospitalized, while the 28-year-old man suffered minor injuries. Troopers said both drivers had their seat belts on when the crash occurred.
