ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Police in St. Petersburg are asking for the public’s help in solving the case of a fatal hit-and-run crash one year ago, WTSP reports.
The incident happened May 2, 2020 on 34th Street North at about 8:20 p.m. Investigators said a sedan swiped a motorcycle that was headed in the same direction, causing the man operating the bike to lose control
The motorcycle driver, 56-year-old Philip Anderson, and his girlfriend, Tricia Best, were both thrown to the pavement. Anderson was pronounced dead at an area hospital, while Best was injured.
Police said they located the car involved in the crash but are still trying to track down the driver. They are looking for two people who were in a dark-colored SUV or van in the area at the time who may have information regarding what happened.
St. Petersburg police are asking anyone with information on the case to come forward and contact them.
