LAKE WALES, FL – Authorities say a school board employee in Polk County was involved in a drunk driving accident on Sunday afternoon, reports Fox 13 News.
45-year-old Amy Steele was arrested on a DUI charge following the incident in Lake Wales. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said Steele was driving a Chevrolet Silverado when she crashed into a barbed wire fence on Lake Mabel Loop Road shortly after 4 p.m.
A deputy determined that Steele was impaired following a field sobriety test that showed her blood alcohol level was over the legal limit.
Officials say Steele is a social science coach in the school board’s Curriculum and Instruction Department.
