PORT RICHEY, FL – A search is underway for a hit-and-run driver who caused a crash in Port Richey Tuesday night, state troopers said.
According to The Suncoast News, the accident happened in the vicinity of U.S. Highway 19 and Regency Park Boulevard at about 10:17 p.m. The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Christopher Steven Cignarella of Port Richey.
Investigators say Cignarella was driving a sedan when he ran a red light at the intersection, and struck another sedan driven by a 20-year-old Port Richey woman who was making a turn onto Regency Park Boulevard. There were no reports of injuries.
Cignarella is believed to have fled the scene on foot following the accident and was not located. The FHP said he does not possess a driver’s license and has multiple suspensions.
