COLLIER COUNTY, FL – A police officer in south Florida died after his car crashed in Collier County Sunday morning, WTSP reports.
43-year-old Horatio Dominguez was an officer with the Miccosukee Police Department. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, he lost control of his vehicle after a tire blew out on Interstate 75 near mile marker 51.
The car rolled over several times and Dominguez was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Miccosukee Police said Dominguez had recently retired as a staff sergeant with the Army National Guard.
