SPRING HILL, FL – An accident involving a car and a tow truck claimed the life of a Spring Hill teenager Monday afternoon, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of County Line Road and Spring Time Street near the Pasco County-Hernando County line at about 3:13 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said a 17-year-old boy was driving a Mazda Miata convertible when its path was blocked by the tow truck that was backing up from a driveway into the street. The car ended up hitting the flatbed of the truck.
A 15-year-old girl who was a passenger in the convertible was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not yet been released. No one else was injured in the accident.
It is not yet clear whether there will be any charges stemming from the fatal crash.
