ST. PETERSBURG, FL – The St. Petersburg Police Department is asking for the public’s help in tracking down the vehicle that hit a young girl last week.
Police tweeted a photo of the vehicle they are looking for in connection with the July 8 incident. It happened at the Enclave at Sabal Pointe Apartments in the 2100 block of 54th Avenue South. Police said the 6-year-old girl was struck by a white SUV while she was playing at about 4 p.m.
The driver sped away from the scene after the accident, investigators said. The girl sustained minor injuries.
Anyone who may have recognized the car was asked to contact St. Petersburg Police.
