PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – A teenager trying to catch a bus for school in Pinellas County Wednesday morning was struck by a van, WTSP reported.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the 14-year-old St. Petersburg girl was walking across U.S. 19 near 50th Avenue North when the incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. The FHP said she was trying to get to a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus when she entered the path of a van and was hit by the vehicle.
The girl was reported to have been seriously injured. The driver of the van was not hurt.
