POLK COUNTY, FL – A woman has been arrested for driving under the influence after fleeing the scene of a crash that seriously injured two, reports Patch.
The accident took place on Rockridge Road in Lakeland, when Nancy Norwood performed a U-turn and caused a motorcycle to hit her car. The incident occurred at around 1 a.m. on Sunday.
Norwood fled the scene of the crash but was quickly located by authorities. According to police, Norwood was located asleep in her vehicle, smelled strongly of alcohol, and was slurring her words. She blew a blood alcohol level of 0.23.
Norwood was arrested and has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash and driving while under the influence.
The victims of the crash have been hospitalized and are in critical condition.
