
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – The driver of an SUV struck a man in a wheelchair on Rowan RD near CR 587 Thursday, Tampa Free Press Reports.
The driver was on northbound Rowan Rd when he struck the 79-year-old man who used a wheelchair as he was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk. The impact from the collision ejected the victim from the wheelchair.
First responders transported the victim to an area hospital, where they would later die, around 4:30 p.m.
