PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – State troopers in Pinellas County said a crash involving a pickup truck and an SUV Thursday night left one of the drivers dead.
The Suncoast News reports the vehicles collided on Belleair Road near South Lake Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said a 24-year-old woman lost control of the SUV while driving west on Belleair Road. Her vehicle crashed nearly head-on into an eastbound pickup truck driven by a 47-year-old man.
The man, a Clearwater resident, died of his injuries at an area hospital. The other driver, from Temple Terrace, was seriously injured.
