TAMPA, FL – State troopers are trying to track down a driver who hit a Road Ranger truck that stopped to assist a disabled car Friday afternoon, IONTB reports.
The incident occurred near mile post 37 on the shoulder of the Howard Frankland Bridge at about 2:30 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a woman was driving a Mazda 6 north in the outside lane when she drove partially onto the shoulder and sideswiped the truck of the Road Ranger. The Mazda then went down an embankment and struck a barrier. Following the crash, the driver of the Mazda got into a Nissan Versa and left the scene, the FHP said.
The 28-year-old Road Ranger sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
Anyone with information was asked to contact the FHP or Crime Stoppers.
