
NORTH PORT, FL – Authorities say a teenager riding a skateboard was struck by a vehicle in Sarasota County over the weekend, reports WWSB.
Police and emergency crews were on the scene of the incident on Balsey Street in North Port on Saturday.
According to investigators, a 13-year-old girl was on her skateboard in the roadway near her home when she was struck at about 3:50 p.m.
The girl sustained minor injuries, and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
