TAMPA, FL – An 18-year-old driver died after his car was involved in a crash on Interstate 75 near the Progress Boulevard overpass in Hillsborough County Tuesday night.
According to WTSP, the driver was headed south on I-75 when he failed to negotiate a curve near milepost 253 at about 10 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said he lost control and hit the front of another car, with both vehicles then going down an embankment and into a line of trees.
The 18-year-old, a Seffner resident, was pronounced dead at the scene while his 18-year-old passenger was seriously injured. The 20-year-old driver of the second car was also seriously hurt.
