
RUSKIN, FL – The driver of a sport utility vehicle was killed when his vehicle crashed on Interstate 75 near Ruskin Saturday morning, reports the Tampa Bay Times.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the 19-year-old driver was headed south on I-75 near Sun City Center Boulevard when the accident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. According to state troopers, he lost control of the SUV, went onto a shoulder of the interstate and over-corrected. The vehicle wound up in the center median, overturned and then collided with a tree.
The driver, a Brooksville resident whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The FHP said he was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
