2 dead in head-on collision on wet roads in Largo

LARGO, FL – Police said wet roads were a contributing factor in a fatal head-on crash in Largo Monday morning, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The accident happened on Keene Road near Rosery Road at about 10:15 a.m. Police said a man lost control while driving a Dodge Charger north on Keene Road, and swerved into the southbound lanes. The Charger collided with a Jeep Wrangler that was headed south.

The driver of the Charger and a passenger in the Wrangler were pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital. The driver of the Wrangler was listed in serious but stable condition.

Investigators did not believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
