
BRADENTON, FL – A collision at an intersection in Bradenton Thursday afternoon killed a man riding a bicycle, WWSB reports.
The victim, a 73-year-old man, was riding in the area of 44th Avenue East and Pine Street when the incident occurred at about 4:30 p m. The Florida Highway Patrol said the bike rider and a pickup truck were both going east on 44th Avenue East when the bicyclist made a right turn and entered the path of the pickup.
The bicyclist was struck by the front of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges were pending for the 19-year-old driver of the pickup truck, according to the FHP.
