
SARASOTA, FL – A young girl riding a scooter in Sarasota was struck by a vehicle and injured, reports WWSB.
The accident happened Wednesday afternoon on Brookmeade Drive. The Florida Highway Patrol said the 8-year-old victim rode her scooter into the path of an oncoming SUV and was hit.
The girl was airlifted to All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. No details were released on the extent of her injuries.
The driver of the SUV was reported to have stayed at the scene and was cooperating with authorities.
