HUDSON, FL – An elderly driver was killed when his car crashed on U.S. Highway 19 Tuesday morning, according to The Suncoast News.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the 81-year-old man was driving a sedan southbound near Briar Oaks Drive at about 11:37 a.m. when he crossed over the center of the highway. The car ended up going south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 19, went onto a shoulder and then slammed into a tree.
The victim, a Hudson resident, was pronounced dead later at an area hospital. His name was not immediately released.
