
HOLMES BEACH, FL – Officials say a woman is in custody in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Holmes Beach, WWSB reports.
This is an update to a previous story.
27-year-old Cierra Shannon turned herself in last Thursday after having been identified as a person of interest in the case.
The victim was 83-year-old Madelyn Dakan of Michigan, who was struck by a car on Gulf Drive while on vacation. The driver left the scene following the crash.
Shannon’s car, a Chevy Trailblazer, was seized and is being checked for evidence. She was booked into the Manatee County jail on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
