MANATEE COUNTY, FL – State troopers say a truck driver involved in a multi-vehicle accident in Manatee County was allegedly driving under the influence.
WWSB reports 21-year-old Roberto Jimenez was arrested following the incident Tuesday morning on County Road 675 near Oak Knoll Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Jimenez was driving a semi-trailer northbound when he failed to maintain his travel lane and crossed into southbound traffic.
The FHP said his vehicle sideswiped four other vehicles that were traveling southbound, three SUVs and a pickup truck towing a trailer. The vehicles all ended up in a shoulder of the roadway.
Jimenez was charged with driving under the influence with property damage. He was taken to the Manatee County Jail. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
