HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – Authorities are trying to track down the driver involved in a hit-and-run incident that injured a child in Hillsborough County Thursday morning.
This is an update to a previous story.
According to WTSP, the 9-year-old boy was hit by a car at about 6 a.m. as he was waiting for a school bus on West Lake Drive in Wimauma. He was hospitalized with head injuries.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says it has obtained surveillance video showing a dark-colored sedan on the road nearby moments before the boy was struck. Deputies with the sheriff’s office are calling the car a vehicle of interest in the case, and urged anyone who may have recognized it to come forward.
