
SARASOTA COUNTY, FL – Utility crews were busy repairing the damage caused by a car crash in Sarasota County Sunday night.
According to WTSP, a car struck a power pole in the area of Holiday Drive and S. Tamaimi Trail. The incident caused power lines to fall across north and southbound lanes on U.S. 41. Florida Power & Light crews responded to the scene and worked overnight to fix damage to the pole and lines.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said U.S. 41 was shut down southbound at Eugene Street and northbound at Beneva Road while the work continued. All lanes reopened shortly before 1 a.m. Monday.
There were no reports of injuries, and no immediate word on what caused the crash.
