HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A driver was fatally struck by a pickup truck after getting a flat tire on a Hillsborough County highway ramp, state troopers said.
The Tampa Bay Times reports the victim was driving a Ford Mustang at about 8:10 Monday night when he pulled over because of the flat on Interstate 75 near U.S. 301. While he was checking the tire, he and the car were struck by a Ford F-150 pickup on the I-75 exit ramp, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The driver of the Mustang, a 24-year-old man from Zephyrhills, was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The pickup driver was not hurt.
