Driver dead after vehicles collide on West Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa

TAMPA, FL – A two-car accident at an intersection in Tampa Wednesday morning left one of the drivers dead, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

According to police, a woman driving a Prius was making a left turn onto North Howard Avenue at about 6:45 a.m. when she turned in front of a Lexus SUV that was heading east on West Hillsborough Avenue. The Lexus was not able to avoid the collision and hit the Prius on the right side.

The Prius driver, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.
