HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – A driver was killed after losing control of his car on a road in Hernando County over the weekend, according to the Tampa Bay Reporter.

The 62-year-old man was driving a sedan on Citrus Way when the accident occurred Saturday at about 12:35 a.m. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol said the driver was unable to negotiate a left curve as he was approaching Parsons Road.

The car went off the roadway, struck a boulder and then crashed into a utility pole. The driver, a resident of Homosassa, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released.
