
ST PETERSBURG, FL – A driver fatally struck a motorcyclist on First Ave North near 30th St North Sunday, according to Tampa Bay Times.
At around 5:04 p.m., the driver of a Mini Cooper was turning onto 30th St from First Ave when he crossed into the path of a Harley Davidson operated by Elijah Cates, 41. The two vehicles collided with each other.
First responders transported Cates to an area hospital, where he died.
Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. It is unclear whether or not he will face any charges in connection with the crash.
