Driver fatally strikes pedestrian on Gulf Blvd

CLEARWATER, FL – A driver fatally collided with a woman on the 1200 block of Gulf Blvd Thursday, according to Tampa Bay Times.

The driver hit Marianne Meichenbaum, 80, around 1:41 p.m. First responders airlifted Meichenbaum to an area hospital, where she later died.

Authorities do not believe impairment was a factor in the collision.

The incident is under investigation by the Clearwater Police Department’s traffic homicide team.
