Driver injured when dump truck crashes, overturns on Suncoast Parkway

LUTZ, FL – A driver was hospitalized following a dump truck accident in Hillsborough County Tuesday, according to WFLA.

The Florida Highway Patrol arrived at the scene on the Suncoast Parkway (State Road 589) near Lutz Fern Road in Lutz. State troopers determined that the driver lost control of the truck while going south on State Road 589. The vehicle went off the roadway, overturned and crashed into a guardrail.

The driver had to be extricated from the truck and was transported to a nearby hospital. No information has been released yet on the person’s condition.

Lanes were closed while crews responded to clean up dirt and sand from the roadway.
