ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Authorities say a driver was killed when his car crashed on a highway exit ramp in St. Petersburg Sunday afternoon.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, the 36-year-old man lost control on wet pavement at about 4 p.m. while driving on the ramp from Interstate 275 to Interstate 375. The vehicle crashed into a barrier wall, flipped, and fell into a parking lot below, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The driver, a St. Petersburg resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the car. Four city of St. Petersburg vehicles parked in the lot were damaged in the crash.
