WINTER HAVEN, FL – A woman was killed when her car crashed and struck a pole in Winter Haven late Monday night, police said.
According to Fox 13 News, the 29-year-old driver was going west on Havendale Boulevard when she hit a curb near 15th Street NW at about 11:25 p.m. The car flipped and struck a Tampa Electric power pole.
The woman, a Polk City resident, was partially ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The FHP said she was not wearing a seat belt.
All but one of the eastbound lanes on Havendale Boulevard were closed off between 14th St. NW and U.S. Highway 17 while crews responded to the scene.
