Driver killed when vehicle crashes into tree on University Parkway

MANATEE COUNTY, FL – A driver was killed when his vehicle crashed in Manatee County Friday morning, WWSB reports.

The accident occurred as the man was driving east on University Parkway near Town Center Parkway at about 9 a.m.

According to police, the vehicle went onto a grass shoulder on the roadway and crashed into a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The victim was a 31-year-old Bradenton resident whose name was not released.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
