
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – A driver was taken to the hospital after crashing into a bank in Pasco County Friday morning, reports WFLA.
The accident happened at a Wells Fargo bank in the area of State Road 54 and Madison Street in New Port Richey. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man driving a GMC Yukon was headed south on Madison Street when he had a medical emergency and lost control of the vehicle.
The car went onto a shoulder of the roadway, hit a sign, went through a field and then slammed into a wall of the bank. The driver sustained minor injuries, the FHP said.
The bank was not occupied at the time, and no other injuries were reported.
