BRADENTON, FL – State troopers are searching for a driver who left the scene after a fatal pedestrian accident in Bradenton Monday morning.
The Bradenton Herald reports the victim was a 72-year-old man who was trying to walk across U.S. 41 near 58th Avenue West at about 6:45 a.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was struck by a vehicle going southbound. He was declared at the scene by Manatee County EMS.
The driver did not stop to help and kept on going after the crash, the FHP said.
Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or Manatee County Crime Stoppers.
