Driver strikes, injures bicyclist near Azalea Homes

ST PETERSBURG, FL – According to WTSP, a driver collided with and injured a bicyclist at Pinellas Trail and 22nd Ave Saturday.

The driver of a Nissan Rogue was on eastbound 22nd Ave South when the 56-year-old female bicyclist entered the roadway and slammed into the passenger side fender of the vehicle at around 2 p.m.

First responders transported the victim to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with the police.
