Driver strikes, injures pedestrian attempting to cross Gulf Blvd

TREASURE ISLAND, FL – According to The Gabber, a driver struck a pedestrian trying to cross the street on Gulf Blvd Saturday.

Jamie McPherson, 45, was driving a Dodge Caliber when he collided with Jude Rutkowski, 48, as she was attempting to cross the street outside of a marked crosswalk on Gulf Blvd near 1st St East.

Dispatchers sent rescue crews to the crash site after receiving calls concerning the collision around 6:40 p.m. They transported the victim to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities believe Rutkowski may have been impaired when she was struck by the vehicle.
