ELLENTON, FL – According to WFLA, a hit-and-run driver struck a pedestrian on U.S. 301 near 60th Ave E Friday.
The driver collided with the victim, a 30-year-old man, as he was crossing the highway at around 1 a.m. As that driver fled the scene, an SUV driver hit the pedestrian for a second time.
First responders transported the victim to an area hospital, where he later died.
Authorities urge anyone with information concerning the incident to contact the police.
