TAMPA, FL – A man has been arrested for grabbing the wheel of a vehicle and causing a traffic accident on I-75 in September, AP reports.
The car crash happened on September 4. The driver, a 20-year-old woman, was arguing with Nathaniel Allen Klippel when he grabbed the steering wheel and caused the crash. She initially told police the incident happened when she lost control of the vehicle.
First responders transported both people to an ara hospital. Witnesses at the hospital observed Klippel attempting to intimidate the woman into not reporting the crash to police.
A week later, the woman contacted authorities to inform them that the wreck was caused by Klippel when he grabbed her steering wheel.
Troopers arrested Klippel Thursday for charges including witness tampering and attempted murder.
