Man dies after being struck by vehicles on Manatee County roadway

MANATEE COUNTY, FL – State troopers are investigating the death of a man who was struck by three vehicles on a roadway in Manatee County Saturday evening.

According to WTSP , the incident happened in the southbound lanes of U.S. 301 near 30th Avenue East at about 6:30 p.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the 52-year-old victim was struck by an SUV while he was crossing U.S. 301.  He was then run over by two other vehicles that followed on the highway.

The FHP said the driver of the SUV stayed at the scene after the crash, but the two other drivers kept on going.  A search is now underway for those two vehicles, one of which was described as a light-colored SUV.
