CLEARWATER, FL – Police identified a man killed in a car accident in Clearwater Saturday morning, according to the Tampa Bay Reporter.
22-year-old Luis Angel Alvarado Correa of Wimauma was driving a Toyota Camry when the incident occurred at about 8 a.m. Clearwater police said Correa lost control of his vehicle on State Road 580 near McMullen Booth Road. The car struck a curb and crashed into a pond, overturning and ending up in about eight feet of water.
Correa was declared dead at the scene. No one else was in the car.
All lanes of State Road 580 were closed to traffic while the crash was being investigated.
