
SARASOTA, FL – A pedestrian trying to cross a road in Sarasota was fatally struck by a car Monday night, reports the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the victim was a 59-year-old man from Hudson, Massachusetts. According to state troopers, he was attempting to cross the traffic lanes of Clark Road near Gantt Road at about 9:45 p.m. when he was hit by a westbound sedan and sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the vehicle was a 62-year-old man from Sarasota who was not injured.
The FHP is conducting an investigation into the accident.
