
BRADENTON, FL – An investigation is underway following a fatal crash at the Bradenton Motorsports Park Friday night.
WFLA reports that a track employee, 56-year-old Daniel Stone, was struck and killed by a drag racing vehicle at about 7:40 p.m.
Investigators determined that Stone was trying to guide the driver into a dirt pit after the vehicle had malfunctioned on the track. Stone was struck by the car and despite efforts by EMS to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deadly accident, and the National Hot Rod Association is trying to determine the cause of the vehicle malfunction.
