
HUDSON, FL – Authorities say they have located and arrested the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian in Pasco County early Thursday morning.
According to The Suncoast News, the accident happened on U.S. Highway 19 near the intersection with Krag Drive at about 2:23 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 33-year-old Hudson man was walking in a travel lane when he was hit and killed by a northbound Chevrolet pickup truck that fled the scene.
State troopers said they apprehended the suspect later in the day on Sunshine Grove Road in Hernando County. He was identified as 28-year-old Henry Andres Gallo of Brooksville, who has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving a death.
Gallo was taken to the Hernando County Jail.
