
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a man died after being hit by an SUV in Hillsborough County Friday afternoon.
According to WTSP , the pedestrian was walking across US-301 near Tom Folson Road when the accident occurred at about 4 p.m.
State troopers said the driver of the SUV was trying to pass another car on US-301 when he hit the man as he was trying to cross the roadway. The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was a 65-year-old man from Zephyrills. The FHP is investigating the crash and says charges are pending.
