
LAKELAND, FL – A motorcycle rider died after driving off a road and crashing in Polk County late Saturday night, state troopers said.
According to the Daily Ridge , 45-year-old Michael Andrew Molinaro of Lakeland was driving a Suzuki GSXR motorcycle on East Edgewood Drive in Lakeland when the accident occurred at about 11:55 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said Molinaro lost control of his motorcycle while trying to make a left turn onto Lakeland Highlands Road. The bike struck a curb, went off the road and crashed into a tree.
Efforts by police and rescue crews to save Molinaro were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The area was shut down to traffic for about four hours for the crash investigation.
