Motorcyclist critically injured in collision with pickup truck in Sarasota County

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL – Authorities said a motorcycle rider was injured in a collision with a pickup truck in Sarasota County Monday afternoon.

According to WWSB, state troopers responded to the incident on Bee Ridge Road near the intersection with Radnor Place. Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a pickup truck was headed east on Bee Ridge Road while approaching the intersection at about 2:20 p.m. and made a left turn in front of a motorcyclist who was going west.

The motorcycle struck the side of the pickup, and the motorcyclist was rushed to an area hospital with injuries reported to be critical. The driver of the pickup was not hurt in the incident.
