
TAMPA, FL – According to WTSP, officials have released additional information concerning the fatal collision on I-275 near Kennedy Blvd Monday.
A 51-year-old male pickup truck driver was heading north on I-275 when he looked down at his phone and slammed into a sedan occupied by a 53-year-old female driver and a 39-year-old male passenger.
The impact propelled the sedan forward and caused it to collide with the four vehicles in front of it.
First responders pronounced both occupants of the sedan dead at the scene of the accident.
The pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries in the collision. The occupants of the four other vehicles suffered injuries ranging from minor to severe.
