PALM HARBOR, FL – An accident involving nine vehicles disrupted traffic in a portion of Pinellas County Monday morning, reports ABC Action News.
Palm Harbor Fire Rescue said it responded to the scene at the intersection of US-19 and Nebraska Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. According to the emergency crews, the incident resulted in 16 patients, with one person taken by ambulance to Bayfront Hospital. No details were released on the person’s condition.
The roadway was blocked as extensive cleanup efforts were underway at the accident scene. Drivers were advised to avoid the northbound intersection until it reopened later in the morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating what led to the pileup.
